MSS deployment#
Fall rate#
Should be in the range 0.5 to 1.0 m/s; 0.7 m/s is good.
Monitor the fall rate by looking at pressure. Should increase by 0.5-1 dbar per line (there is one line per second).
Personnel#
Initially, should be 3 people:
1 manning the winch
1 managing the cable
1 monitoring the PC
Once everyone is comfortable, this can be cut down to 2 as the same person can manage the cable and the PC.
